Marilyn’s Soul Sessions

We’re working with the Sun Card from the Rider-Waite tarot deck today and helping you learn to read based on personal experiences.

There are many reasons that learning to read for yourself is important—to gain personal insights, avoid someone else applying their filters to your life, get answers and guidance, etc.

One of the most practical reasons for learning to read tarot for yourself is so that you can do something to get answers when you wake up at 2:00 a.m. with questions and uncertainty. You can get answers and get back to sleep instead of worrying and waiting for someone else’s business hours start.

To watch the replay and get your free pdf: Soulful Tarot: The Moon Card. Go to the Facebook Live, type in MOON in the comment section, and we’ll deliver the free pdf to you via Facebook messenger.

We’ll get to reading the sun card soon, but first, here’s a nugget of knowledge you can apply right away.

Weekly Wisdom: Don’t hide from your truth. Live the life that’s living in your heart. If what you want seems too far away from you, take action steps today and every day to bring the energy closer. Move toward the person you want to be. Don’t wait for something so big that it can’t come into your field because you haven’t been opening up to it and getting ready for it on a daily basis.

In this week’s Facebook Live, several members asked questions about tarot:

  • 8:30 Does how we ask the question matter?
  • 9:45: How do I know what the cards mean instead of just what I want them to mean?
  • 11:45 I get overwhelmed by how many things I want to ask, and then, I can’t figure out what to ask.
  • 12:35 I sometimes have trouble figuring out what the answer means as far as it’s relevance to the question.
  • 15:00 One card can have so many meanings. How do I relate them to my question?
  • 15:50 How do I know when to stop shuffling?

Those are all great questions! Because I want to play a game with you today and help you do a reading for yourself, I’m going to let you watch the replay to learn those answers. ➔ March 28th Facebook Live

The Symbol Game

Let’s play a game to learn more about symbols! Write down what the following items mean to you:

  1. Daisy
  2. Keys
  3. Coins
  4. Plate

During the Live (at about 18:05), several people gave wonderful answers, but none of the answers were the same. The reason the meanings are different is that your interpretation comes from your life and experiences while other people are assigning meaning from their lives and experiences.

You didn’t have to look up your answers. You just thought about it and knew what the symbols meant to you.

Can you see why intuitive tarot reading for yourself is so much more personalized and powerful? It’s not a random interpretation of what a symbol means; it’s about how the symbols apply to YOUR life.

That’s a different approach than most teachers take. But it helps you get going quickly.

Suzi · 14:50 Just starting with this and you are helping me so much

Reading the Sun Card

  • Breathe three times into the part of you that carries wisdom and infinite knowledge.
  • Now, put your hand over your heart (either hand).
  • Ask one question—you can speak it out loud or write the question on paper (I suggest you write it to help you remember when we put this all together).
  • Look at the sunflowers and ask, “What do sunflowers mean to me?” You don’t have to worry about how the answer relates to the question right now (make a note if you do know, but it’s okay if you don’t).
  • Next, ask yourself, “What is the horse doing?” “Do I like horses? Why?”
  • Next, see the baby. Ask, “What stands out about the baby?” Write what you like about it or why it stands out for you.
  • Next, see the wall behind the baby and ask, “What does the wall convey to me? If it could speak, what does it say to me right now?” Use your imagination. It doesn’t matter if that’s what you want it to say or if you clearly hear it.
  • Let the card sing a song to you right now. What does it sing? Again, use your imagination.

Now, let’s relate the answers you just wrote to your question.

  • Take one word/phrase you wrote from each symbol and write it on a separate piece of paper. Put those words together and apply it to your question. For example: Joy, carrying forward, innocent, blocks are behind, Hallelujah.
  • The words may not directly answer your question, but they will give further meaning so that you continue to move forward on your journey. What do I mean by that?
  • You think you’re ready for “THE answer” to your question, but when you work with Guides, they know your big dreams and potential. If directly answering would mislead you to something smaller than you’re capable of or more than you’re ready for, they’ll answer with something that helps you on the journey to what’s BEST for YOU. So, don’t miss the amazing solutions that they’re giving you when they lead you to your answer indirectly. Trust them.

Congratulations! You just did a reading for yourself! What did you think of the process? Was it easy, hard, less clear than you’d hoped, or exactly what you needed to hear?
