Marilyn’s Soul Sessions
Today, we’re exploring how to ask questions when doing tarot readings and communicating with your Guides. Sometimes you aren’t getting an answer because there are things you need to do first. If you ask the right questions, they’ll lead you to the answer in a way that helps you the most.
Weekly Wisdom: Empower yourself. Don’t wait for a teacher, guru, parent, or advisor to give you permission to take action to make things better. It’s your life. Stand in your power.
Personal Story
In the past, I wondered about getting out of a toxic relationship. The relationship was truly not a good one, but I was clinging to it. Instead of telling me to get out, my Guides had me stay in it but shift my focus to a few tasks. Once I did what they said, I gained the insight and skill needed to know that releasing the relationship was the best thing for me, even without asking my Guides about it. And then, my Guides were like, “Great decision. Now let’s move forward.”
My Guides helped me learn what I needed to leave the relationship as a more empowered person instead of losing the lesson by immediately saying, “Get out.”
Now, there was still heartache and grief at the end, but it was easier to face because I had worked through the other steps. And because of it, I could move forward with more wisdom, self-awareness, and skill.
That’s what I mean when I say that sometimes you’re getting the next steps and not the full answer when you ask a question. Learning how to ask action-oriented questions empowers you and leads to the answers you need for where you are today.
If you watch this week’s Facebook Live replay, you can have a hands-on experience with rewriting your questions. At about 22:00, Barbara asks a relationship question, and we help her rewrite it to an empowering question. You can join in and see how the process works.

Now, let’s dive into today’s topic.
How to Ask Questions
Ask your questions from a place of empowerment. For example, “Is this path for my highest good?” instead of, “Am I on the right path?” Or “What do I need to learn from this relationship to move forward?” instead of, “Is this relationship right for me?”
To re-word/rewrite your questions:
- Think empowerment
- Think action-oriented steps
Now, it’s okay to be in a confused place without a conscious idea of what to do. But don’t ask your questions from there. Ask from an empowered position.
When I’m facing a challenge, my favorite action-oriented questions are:
- Where do I need to go next/today?
- What do I need to do next/today?
- Who do I need to talk to next/today?
- What do I need to say to create forward progress?
During the FB Live, a few people asked questions, and we helped reword them to action-oriented and empowered questions. Casey was one of those people, and here’s what she had to say after the experience:
Casey · 20:35 This helps guys!!!! ?? thanks a million…..I think I’m getting this.
That’s so awesome! We’re happy for you, Casey!
