Let’s talk about seeing spirits. (Wooooo…insert spooky music here). hee hee. Yeah, I can laugh about this now but when this first started happening, it scared the bejeezus out of me.
For those of you who don’t know my story about the first time spirits came to me, you can watch the video down below that used to be on my website. If you’re already familiar with it, I want to give you a tip to help you see deceased loved ones. First off, “don’t be afraid!” They can’t harm you. Because I believe I’m completely protected and know that I have “free will”, I can ask any spirit to leave. In the beginning when I wasn’t feeling as confident about my free will, I was screaming and cursing at them and telling them to leave my house. My neighbors thought I was nuts.
How many cool stories have you heard about people saying they saw a loved one before they crossed over and they felt a sense of peace? Before I started doing this work, when I heard those stories, I thought, “Wow, how lucky are you?” I could feel the peace in their words and joy in their hearts.
There are different ways we can see spirits and not everyone will be able to see them right away. What you can do is take comfort in the fact that they are there and they are showing themselves through the feathers on the ground, the ladybug on the leaf or the daisy in the garden. Spirits will also talk to you through symbolic memories the two of you have created. Don’t negate those symbols. Even if you struggle with trusting them, give it a chance. Just say, “Now that you showed me that feather, show me something else or maybe some more feathers,” as a way to receive confirmation about the symbols.
Many times when you are trying to see your loved ones, I suggest you don’t ask for a specific symbol from them. Just ask them to send you a sign, any sign and give them an opportunity to show you that they still exist. It allows you to develop a new communication with them, one that is magical and doesn’t have boundaries. They no longer have physical boundaries, so why place them on them now?
Then when you see a symbol, just trust that is them and blow them a kiss.
For me, when I lose people close to me they visit mainly in my dreams. I’m able to tell that it’s them from the energy in the dream. I will be discussing this energy in my class about clairvoyancy. My deceased loved ones don’t always give me symbols or signs. I guess they feel visiting me in my dreams is enough of a sign or maybe it’s because trust they are always with me.
As someone who genuinely sees dead people, I have plenty of experience with true ghost stories, like the tale of “the hand,” which one of the first times I saw a spirit when I was 5.
